Fee and charging information for The Spring Playgroup and Preschool 2025-2026. 

Our ‘core hours’ are from 9-3, Monday to Friday, during Warwickshire School Termtime. This means that we are open for 39 weeks of the year, with 5 days over the year when we are closed for staff training.  Training days will be notified in advance. 

For core hours, your child’s place can be funded by 2Help funding (term after 2nd birthday, 15 hours/week), Early Education Funding (term after 3rd birthday, 15 hours/week), or Working Parents Funding (from 2nd birthday, 30 hours/week).  The cost to parents of funded hours at The Spring Playgroup is £0. 

If we have vacancies, we also accept children with Kenilworth postcodes for unfunded core hours sessions, additional to their grant funded hours, or if they are not entitled to grant funding. These sessions do not have fixed fees but are offered on a donation-only basis.  As the costs of these sessions are supported by others Kenilworth charities and donors, we are unable to offer them for families not resident in the town. 

To widen access to provision for parents who are working, we also offer ‘extended hours’. Our extended hours are from 8-9am, and from 3-6pm. The afternoon hours are split into two ‘sessions’- 3-4:30, and 4:30-6pm. 

Fees for these are as follows: 

8-9am: £10 a day. 

3-4:30pm: £15 a day 

4:30-6pm: £15 a day. 

(thus an 8-6 day will incur costs of £40) 

Funded hours will always be allocated against core hours in the first instance.  Should a child have funded hours remaining after all of their core hours have been covered, then the remaining  funded hours may be used to pay for extended hours. Otherwise, extended hours will be invoiced as above. 

The sustainability of extended hours depends upon parents paying fees promptly. For this reason, we require booking and payment in advance.  In order to plan and provide staffing at the appropriate levels, we book and invoice extended hours a month at a time.  If fees are not paid by their due date, we will refer to our Debt Management Policy. 

There are no supplementary fees for nappies (which we ask you to provide for your child), suncream (which we provide), snacks (which we ask parents collectively to provide), or lunches (which we ask you to provide for your child).
